Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Stewart farmed in St. Vincent for about 15 years. When the property was taken over by the tank range in 1942 the couple moved to Sydenham Township, near Balaclave, where they farmed for 35 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart have seven daughters, Viola, Mrs. Jack Anderson; Doris, Mrs. Fred Davidson; Berniece, Mrs. John Craig; Jean, Mrs. Allan Riddell; Myrtle, Mrs. Wilbert Beatty; Lois, Mrs. Don Emmerson; Marlene, Mrs. William Byers. There are 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. All were present for the celebration.
