Loving husband and best friend for 58 years of the former Doreen Davies. Devoted father of Patricia of Stratford and Paul of Hanover. Beloved grandfather of Cameron and Rebecca of Hanover. Celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Mr. & Mrs. Alex F. Reid of Wawanesa, Manitoba were joined at their home by relatives and friends on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary, February 21, 1950.

Mr. & Mrs. Reid both came from Owen Sound district in Ontario, but have spent all their married life in Manitoba. They farmed in the Hilton, Margaret, and Methven districts, retiring to Wawanesa in 1944.

Their family consists of Mrs. M. I. Reid, Assiniboia, Sask.; Mrs. E. Powley, Readlyn, Sask.; Robert, Wawanesa; William, Brandon; David, Methven and Mrs, E. R. Shaw, Brandon, Manitoba.

They have 14 grandchildren and one great grandson, Harold Reid, Assiniboia, Sask.

Mr. Reid celebrated his 79th birthday on February 22.
They⁵⁴ celebrated their wedding anniversary on 21 February 1953⁵⁵ HONORED ON 53rd WEDDING ANNIVERSARY,

On Saturday afternoon, February 21st, Mrs. Mary Reid entertained at a "Come and Go Tea" in honor of her parents on their fifty-third wedding anniversary. About thirty five relatives and friends were present. The following day several called to wish Mr. Reid a Happy Eighty-second birthday.

They have three daughters, three sons, fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

During the afternoon three sets of four generations were present. Lunch was served by the hostess with Mesdames S. Dean, E. Powley, I. Young and E. Reid assisting. Mrs. Harold Lumb had charge of the guest book.

Among those attending from a distance were their son David, Methven, Manitoba, a grandson, Albert Reid, Wawanesa, Manitoba, and Mr, and Mrs, David Powley and Kenny from Regina, Sask.

Mrs, Reid (Lucy Scott) was married to Alex F. Reid at Sydenham, near Owen Sound, Ontario, on February 21, 1900. In March of that year they came west to Hilton, Manitoba, where they farmed until moving to Margaret, Manitoba, and in 1921 they moved to the farm at Methven, near Wawanesa, Manitoba where they resided until they retired to Wawanesa. The youngest son David, is still on the farm.

Owing to their advanced age they found it impossible to carry on by themselves, so came to Assiniboia to reside with their daughter Mary in 1951.
